Avance Neo-X 600 is equipped with a 5mm helium-cooled 1H/13C cryoprobe of 2008, providing the highest sensitivity in the UK for 13C measurements. The sensitivity specifications are (measured in July 2026):
1H 3163 : 1 (<3200, noise [200 Hz], 0.1% Ethylbenzene in CDCl3);
13C 2593 : 1 (>1950, noise [40 ppm], ASTM, 40% dioxane, 60% C6D6).
There is also a conventional broadband probe (Bruker’s Smart probe, with additional 19F capability) with the following sensitivity specifications (measured in July 2026):
1H 1048 : 1 (>900, noise [200 Hz], 0.1% Ethylbenzene in CDCl3);
13C 429 : 1 (>330, noise [40 ppm], ASTM, 40% dioxane, 60% C6D6);
15N 60 : 1 (>45, noise [2 ppm], 90% formamide in DMSO-d6);
19F 673 : 1 (noise [1 ppm], LB=2 Hz, 0.05% Trifluorotoluene in CDCl3);
31P 427 : 1 (>250, noise [5 ppm], 0.0485 M Triphenyl Phosphate in acetone-d6).
Specifications for the same probe with the Avance III console of 2008 were (measured in October 2022):
1H 930 : 1 (>900, noise [200 Hz], 0.1% Ethylbenzene in CDCl3);
13C 377 : 1 (>330, noise [40 ppm], ASTM, 40% dioxane, 60% C6D6);
15N 48 : 1 (>45, noise [2 ppm], 90% formamide in DMSO-d6);
19F 578 : 1 (noise [1 ppm], LB=2 Hz, 0.05% Trifluorotoluene in CDCl3);
19F 1143 : 1 (>950, noise [1ppm], LB=0.5 Hz, 0.05% Trifluorotoluene in CDCl3);
31P 345 : 1 (>250, noise [5 ppm], 0.0485 M Triphenyl Phosphate in acetone-d6).
The instrument is used in an automated mode with a SampleCase+ sample changer for 1H and 13C measurements.
