Dr Keyron Hickman-Lewis, Lecturer in Astrobiology at Birkbeck, University of London, and a participating scientist on NASA’s Perseverance rover mission, is co-author of a new paper in Nature reporting the discovery of Martian rocks that contain both organic carbon – a key ingredient for life – and minerals that, on Earth, are often linked to biological processes.
