It was open to all research students across the UK to take part. There were student participants and visitors from numerous universities.
This was initially kicked off with a short lecture by the guest speaker and poster judge, Professor Sir John Aston of the University of Cambridge. His lecture was on Statistics, Science and Government: A Statistician as a CSA.
He was very impressed with all the posters. There could only be three winners.
The winners of the Poster competition are:
Jeffrey Tse, Oxford; Selecting Invalid Instruments. Prize of £500
Yann McLatchie, UCL Statistical Science; Predictive Performance of Power Posteriors. Prize of £300
Kevin Huang, UCL Gatsby; Gaussian Universality and Convex Gaussian Min-Max Theorem for High Dimensional and Dependent Data. Prize of £200
Congratulations to the winners.
Thanks to all who took part and the many visitors.
