  • Celebrating Creativity: Jools Clarke Wins the UCL Astrophysics 200th Anniversary Design Competition

The challenge invited participants to capture the spirit of “200 Years of UCL: Past, Present, Future” through a design that reflects both our rich history and our vibrant Astrophysics community. Entries poured in, each one unique and imaginative, making the final decision no easy task!

After much anticipation (and a close round of voting), we are delighted to announce that Jools Clarke is the winner of the competition! 🎉

Jools’ design brilliantly encapsulates the essence of UCL Astrophysics — blending creativity, science, and celebration into one striking image. The winning artwork is now proudly displayed in the Astro foyer, where it brings colour and inspiration to all who pass through.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who took part, shared their ideas, and helped make this competition such a success. Your enthusiasm and creativity have truly made this anniversary one to remember.

Congratulations once again to Jools! We’re thrilled to have such a vibrant and captivating piece of art representing our community.

Please note, the above is just a snippet of the winning entry.
