  • Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 results

The REF exercise is a major six-yearly evaluation of research outputs, research environment and research impact for university departments across the UK. In a change from previous exercises, mathematical sciences was assessed as a single unit, with a joint submission from the departments of Mathematics and of Statistical Science at UCL being one of the 53 submissions to UoA10.

We are delighted to be among the strongest mathematical science groupings in the UK: we are 6th in the UK in the amount produced of world leading (4*) research publications, and 83% of our submitted outputs were judged to be internationally excellent (4* or 3*).
