Over the last three years, UCL and the Institute of Statistical Mathematics (ISM) have run a series of international workshops on Spatial Temporal Modelling in Tokyo, Japan. Jointly with colleagues from these workshops, Dr Gareth Peters and Professor Tomoko Matsui have produced a compilation of important ideas that arose as outcomes of the discussions in the meetings.
Published in two volumes by the Japan Statistical Society and Springer, the books describe some important modern aspects of spatial and temporal statistical modelling and machine learning from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
