Mathematics students to turn time backwards...

28 August 2015

Spark festival

Anna Lambert and Oliver Southwick - both PhD students in UCL Mathematics - will be taking fluid dynamics to the Spark Festival this bank holiday weekend (30-31 August).

Among numerous other UCL science and engineering activities, they will be demonstrating the Taylor-Couette effect - in which the mixing of fluids appears to magically reverse as if time was going backwards.

The Spark Festival is a two-day free event with fun for all the family, being run by UCL in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It takes place on 30 and 31 August 2015, 11am-6pm.
