MSc Courses
The Department of Space and Climate Physics offers five taught MSc degrees in the areas of Space Science and Engineering, Technology Management, Systems Engineering Management and the Management of Complex Projects. We also offer a Masters Degree Apprenticeship in Systems Engineering.
Our courses are informed by over 50 years’ experience of developing cutting-edge spacecraft technology at the UCL Mullard Space Science Laboratory. Our Space Science and Engineering courses introduce students to key concepts in systems engineering, lifecyles and risk management and focussing on the application of space technology in industrial settings or the scientific research applications of space science.
The challenges and opportunities of working with new or legacy technology and developing complex systems on time and within budget are not limited to the space sector. Through our Management related courses, students will gain an integrated, interdisciplinary view of complex systems and an advanced understanding of the systems engineering process across a range of different industries. They are introduced to key concepts such as technology maturity, lifecycles, risk, reliability and resilience. Systems and strategic thinking and the importance of the enterprise context are promoted throughout.
