ESATAN Thermal Analysis
Thermal analysis to predict the expected heat flows from on-board electrical equipment along with heat sources in the operating environment.
All designs are analysed before manufacture commences to ensure the proposed equipment will function in the environment it is to be operated in and will survive the harsh conditions found during the launch phase of space equipment.

For instrument and system thermal analysis, MSSL use the ESATAN Thermal Suite. ESATAN is a software package for the prediction of temperature and heat flows using either a thermal lumped parameter or a finite element network. It is the standard European thermal analysis tool used to support the design and verification of space thermal control systems, produced by ITP Engines.
