Scholarship Information
For the 2026/27 academic year, funding will be open to both UK and International research students.
Our PhD scholarships provide a fully funded package to support students during their studies and include:
Tuition Fees
University fees are covered in full for the duration of your studentship (4 years).
We have a small number of fully funded international places to be available on a competitive basis to exceptional students of any citizenship.
Monthly Stipend
Annual tax-free maintenance stipend in line with the UKRI published rate. This is paid in monthly instalments.
London Weighting
Because of our location, our students receive an additional London allowance on top of the standard UKRI stipend.
Stipend Enhancement
All CDT AMR students receive an additional £1,000 per year on top of the standard UKRI stipend, paid as part of their monthly stipend.
Leave Packages
In addition to stipend, fees and research budget, our students are entitled to 27 days of annual leave, plus six closure days as well as statutory holidays in line with UCL Annual Leave Policies for Doctoral Students.
There are also support packages for students who need to take time out including sick leave and family leave.
