The UCL Centre for Data Intensive Science and Industry recently held its Spring Event, celebrating the successful completion of the 9th round of CDT group projects. These 12-week projects give first-year CDT students the opportunity to work with industry partners on real data-intensive challenges, developing practical solutions while gaining early experience of collaborative work beyond academia.
This round included projects with Lantum, Oliver Wyman, SWA, and The Guardian, bringing the programme to 38 completed group projects to date. The event brought together students, academic supervisors, and industry partners to share outcomes, reflect on the value of the collaborations, and highlight the role of these projects in connecting doctoral training with real-world impact.
The Centre’s industry partnerships also continue to create wider opportunities for students, including paid internships for PhD students interested in applying data-intensive methods in industrial settings. Interested students are welcome to contact the Director of Partner Engagement Gabriel Facini.
