Welcome to the Your Universe Festival UCL200 edition, exploring the wonders of our universe and celebrating 200 years of Physics & Astronomy at UCL, with two free public events on Saturday 20th June!
Saturday afternoon interactive exhibition: UCL200 Your Universe Festival
Join us for hands-on demos and activities, a planetarium and an immersive image experience. Explore the wonders of the universe with leading physics, astronomy and planetary science experts. If you are curious about the cosmos, this event has something for everyone. Come and discover the mysteries of the universe with us!
The interactive exhibition takes place on the afternoon of Saturday 20th June from 12-5pm in the North Cloisters and associated rooms in the main building at UCL’s Bloomsbury campus, for families and the general public.
Saturday evening panel event: Missions of Discovery!
On the Saturday evening, we will bring the P&A UCL200 festivities to a close with our panel event ‘Missions of Discovery!’, where there will be time for questions and discussion with our expert scientists after hearing about some of the exciting discoveries they are making at UCL. Our panel line-up includes:
- Andrew Coates - Professor of Physics at UCL’s Mullard Space Science Laboratory: Mars exploration
- Ofer Lahav - Perren Professor of Astronomy, UCL Physics and Astronomy: Is Dark Energy evolving with cosmic time?
- Sarah Malik - Senior Research Fellow in Quantum Computing and Machine Learning, the London Centre for Nanotechnology: The search for Dark Matter with the LHC
- Shana Sullivan - UCL Observatory technician and PhD student, UCL Physics and Astronomy: Spectroscopy for climate justice

The evening panel event will take place on Saturday 20th June from 6pm in the Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre, on the second floor of the South Junction.
