Mathematics has been taught here since UCL’s earliest days and from this rich heritage, the department has developed with teaching staff actively involved in research across a range of disciplines including all important aspects of mathematics. We are among the very top departments in the UK for graduate study, with excellent results from the last Research Assessment Framework (REF) 2021. Our graduate courses are taught by those at the forefront of research, with opportunities to get involved in research through project work.
