Join the UCL Warning Research Centre and CUAMM Doctors with Africa to discuss with a wide range of stakeholders on how to build effective warnings for health issues, with a particular focus on emergent infectious diseases (EID). During the workshop and roundtable event, we aim to bring together a wide range of stakeholders to explore the mechanics of how the first mile can be implemented using all voices.
This will involve:
- Key examples, both successful and unsuccessful.
- Exercises, simulations, and scenarios for exploring and sharing ideas and practices across sectors and hazards.
- Roundtable session on how to raise awareness of the first mile and obtain policy and political backing.
There will be a focus on a wide range of health hazards including emerging infectious diseases and mental health.
This event is sponsored by CUAMM Doctors with Africa:
Doctors with Africa CUAMM is an NGO working for the promotion and protection of health in Africa. CUAMM cooperates with local operators in hospitals, health centres, villages and universities, to improve the health conditions of communities in over 9 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
