Browse upcoming events from UCL Risk & Disaster Reduction.Join experts from UCL Risk & Disaster Reduction at Woburn House (or online) for an insightful event focusing on humanitarian careers in today’s ever-evolving world.
Your journey begins with an immersive hour of hands-on exploration. Build a ‘go-bag’, the essential kit for sudden deployment, handle real shelter and WASH materials, and add your hopes for the future onto our interactive wall.
Then gather around the table from 5 - 6pm for a panel discussion and Q&A with researchers from UCL Risk & Disaster Reduction, many of whom have also had successful careers as practitioners in organisations such as the United Nations and Médecins Sans Frontières.
They’ll share how they navigate the challenges, the rewards, and the realities of a career dedicated to humanitarian action and disaster response.
Join us for refreshments after the panel and a chance to connect with like-minded individuals, and members of our department to explore the various career paths available that help to tackle some of the world’s most pressing problems. In a world facing the climate crises, conflict, pandemics, AI and political upheaval, the need for diverse, adaptable humanitarian careers has never been greater.
