CIREN Seminar: Models and Materials for Low Carbon Energy
November 12th 2-3pm followed by networking over tea and coffee
Overview:
This seminar will explore limiting our carbon dioxide emissions whilst meeting our energy needs, requiring us to model and develop renewable energy approaches which in turn require a sustainable supply of Earth resources. Two UCL experts will give 15-minute presentations, followed by a panel discussion with questions from the audience. Participants can then network with others working on climate from across UCL over tea and coffee.
Speakers:
Katie McFall, Lecturer on Economic Geology, Earth Sciences, UCL (profile)
Sustainable supply of earth resources for green technology via field mapping, core logging, petrology, geochemistry and mineral micro-analysis
James Price, Principal Research Fellow, Bartlett School Env, Energy & Resources, UCL (profile)
Modelling future low carbon energy systems at national and global scales, including transitions to environmentally sustainable renewable energy systems
