Birkbeck Rosalind Franklin Lecture 2024: 'Back to the Moon' with Professor Katie Joy
We are delighted to announce that the Birkbeck annual Rosalind Franklin Lecture will be given this year by CPS and Birkbeck alumnus, Professor Katherine Joy from the University of Manchester.
The Birkbeck School of Natural Sciences will hold the annual Rosalind Franklin Lecture, which celebrates the life and work of one of Birkbeck’s most distinguished and inspirational scientists, on the evening of Wednesday 29th May at Birkbeck College. This year’s talk will be given by Birkbeck and CPS alumnus, Katherine Joy, Professor of Lunar and Planetary Science at the University of Manchester, on the following topic:
Professor Katherine Joy (Manchester) - Back to the Moon: how and why we explore our closest planetary neighbour
The event will include a Q&A session and continue into the evening with the opportunity to take a tour of the Natural Sciences laboratories and explore a posterboard exhibition presented by the School. Attendees will also be able to meet the speaker, as well as current faculty researchers and students to continue conversations.
The lecture (excluding the Q&A) will be live streamed so attendees who are unable to join the event in person may watch it. A link will be shared with ticket holders nearer the time.
