Workshop: Putting gender on the COP 28 agenda

Led by the Gender Responsive Resilience and Intersectionality in Policy and Practice (GRRIPP) project in collaboration with Womenvai , we welcome you to join us as we discuss the COP policies and themes through a gender lens. COP 28 is to be held in Dubai later this year and it claims to be ‘a COP for all.’ But how inclusive is COP? We will be looking at last year’s COP resolutions as well as themes introduced this year and how you can make a difference.

During this interactive workshop, you’ll be working in teams to come up with a gender-responsive plan to tackle climate change issues - working towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Each team will present their action plans to the cohort. We hope that the ideas and projects considered in this session will be taken to COP 28 and presented at a side event.

Everyone is invited to attend this engaging and thought-provoking workshop to challenge global policy and contribute your own ideas to make the world a better, more equitable and just place.

Requirements: Please bring your own laptops to work on.

This session is open to all UCL students, including incoming students studying in the MAPS faculty. Refreshments will be provided.

GRRIPP (Gender Responsive Resilience and Intersectionality in Policy and Practice) is a is a four-year global collaboration and knowledge-exchange project, implemented by a collective of universities. It aims to bring together theory, policy, and practice to promote a gender-responsive approach to disaster management and development.
