APEX 3 Nov double-bill: Abiotic synthesis of graphitic carbons, and Glacier-like forms on Mars
At this week's APEX seminar, we look forward to hearing from Zixiao Guo, a postdoctoral researcher from the UCL Department of Earth Sciences, and Graham Driver, a PhD candidate and teaching assistant at the School of Natural Sciences, Birkbeck, University of London. This will be a hybrid event, held at Birkbeck and online.
Our next Astrobiology and Planetary Exploration (APEX) seminar, this Friday 3rd November at 13:00, is a double-bill featuring the following talks:
- Zixiao Guo (UCL ES): Abiotic synthesis of graphitic carbons from the Eoarchean Saglek metasedimentary rocks
- Graham Driver (Birkbeck): Glacier-Like Forms on Mars: Impact crater records as evidence for polyphase glaciation across the Amazonian period
Please note the new day and location for APEX this term: Fridays at lunchtime, 1-2 pm, in room 612 in Birkbeck’s main building on Malet Street.
A hybrid (in-person and online) format will continue this term but, of course, we warmly encourage in-person attendance to support our visiting speakers.
Details of the forthcoming APEX programme can be found at the link below, although we are still finalising some details. The latest information will be advertised in advance of each meeting. If you are not on our regular mailing lists and are interested in attending these seminars, please contact joanna.fabbri AT ucl.ac.uk.
