This 2-hr 'KTN Innovation Canvas Workshop' aims to help UCL researchers work on aspects that are key for success in an innovation process. Whether you are applying for an innovation-related grant, or looking to embark on a commercialisation process, you'll need to develop a strong business case.
While no simple, step-by-step recipe can ensure success when innovating, there are processes which can help you get a better understanding of the opportunities and risks around your innovation idea. With this purpose, the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) developed the Innovation Canvas, a'guide to progress' tool that will help you:
- spot gaps in your business case
- identify and overcome challenges
- test your assumptions
- clarify areas of risk and uncertainty
If you are looking to translate your research into a commercial environment, you will find this workshop useful to identify the weaknesses and strengths of your innovation.
The session will be lead by Jake Larsson, Knowledge Transfer Manager at KTN. Participants will be split into groups where they'll work on their business case using the Innovation Canvas, first individually (each researcher on their own or with a collaborator) and then in groups.
Agenda:
9.30: Coffee and Tea
10.00: KTN Innovation Canvas Workshop
12.00: Closure
