Research Summary
I am an Earth and environmental scientist and Lecturer in Earth Sciences in the Department. I am primarily interested in the geologic, geochemical & anthropogenic processes that influence Earth’s surface, now, and over its geological past. I mostly develop novel numerical methods which I combine with geochemical, geomorphic & geophysical datasets that I collect in the field. I am passionate about open science, open-source software and science communication. I co-developed and maintain the pollution visualisation website www.sewagemap.co.uk. Most of my publications are free to access online, but please reach out to me if you cannot access them.
Some problems I have worked on are:
- Tracking pollutants (and other tracers) through river networks
- How does the mantle influence Earth’s surface?
- The long-term evolution of the continents & carbon cycle
- Making geochemical data "work harder"
