Centre for Planetary Science

The Centre for Planetary Science brings together experts from Physics and Astronomy, the Mullard Space Science Laboratory and the departments of Earth Sciences at UCL and Birkbeck, University of London.

CPS members play key role in international planetary science missions such as Mars Express, Cassini-Huygens and Rosetta. The Centre is also one of three UK participants in the EU-funded Europlanet project, which brings together Europe’s major planetary science centres. In 2013, the Centre hosted the European Planetary Science Congress, with around 800 planetary scientists from around the world attending.
