Career path
After graduating, Heghiné joined UNICEF Armenia as an Emergency Officer. Here, she applied her disaster risk expertise directly to humanitarian crises, establishing a field office at the main border crossing for refugees.
Her work now focuses on strengthening child-focused contingency planning across UN and government systems, conducting emergency preparedness exercises with Armenia’s State Rescue Service and other partners.
A UK FCDO Chevening Scholar, she chose UCL RDR for its applied and interdisciplinary approach to disaster risk and humanitarian action.
In moments of uncertainty in the field, I often return to the frameworks and lessons from RDR. They continue to guide my work in real crises.
