Are you interested in pursuing an independent career in academia?

Two young PIs, Dr. Sophie Acton and Dr. Harry Leitch, will share their experience about their academic journey, how they became independent, and the challenges they face as new group leaders.

Dr. Sophie Acton is a group leader at the MRC LMCB, UCL working on lymphoid tissue biology. She completed her Master of Pharmarcy at the University of Bath and obtained her PhD in Biochemistry from UCL.

Dr. Harry Leitch is a group head at the MRC LMS and an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Clinical Genetics at Imperial College London. He completed his MB BChir at the University of Cambridge and his PhD at the Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute.
