A new look for MASC25
1 December 2004 saw the launch of the full MASC25 service, bringing together collection-level descriptions of printed special collections in university libraries in the M25 Consortium. The launch concludes the second phase of the project, supported by the University of London Vice-Chancellor's Development Fund, to develop MASC25 as a consolidated mapping tool for the region's rich research resources in print.
If you have been following the progress of MASC25 on this site over recent months you will notice few changes to the search interface. Three complementary search options are available:
- "Basic Keyword Search" queries the title, description and note fields throughout the database to match your term.
- "Browse by Subject" allows you to view an alphabetical list of all the Library of Congress Subject Headings applied to the collection-level descriptions.
- "Browse by Institution" allows you to view all the printed special collections held by a particular library.
What has changed, however, is the data. MASC25 now contains up-to-date information from libraries in the University of London, and new information from other university libraries in the M25 Consortium. Further updates will be added in the future as necessary. See our about MASC25 page for more information about the coverage of MASC25.
