I am a Bioinformatician, with more than 10 years’ research experience of high-quality scientific research at the intersection of biology, computer science and statistics.
With my Masters in Bioinformatics I carried out my PhD research in the area of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology where I developed a computational algorithm converted into a freely available web tool to detect binding sites in a protein structure at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India.
I joined David T Jones lab as a postdoctoral fellow at Computer Science Department, UCL, where I contributed towards developing algorithm for protein-protein contact prediction.
I spent around a year and half at IBM Research United Kingdom where my main focus was using high performance computing in the area of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.
Currently, as part of Bioinformatics Core Facility at LMCB UCL, my research activities predominantly involve statistical analyses and visualization techniques which links heterogenous data sources from RNA-seq or Chip-Seq experiments, and link them to biomedical phenotypes of interest to the biologists. I am also actively involved in analyzing image data using ImageJ and statistical packages in R.
