Congratulations to Sian Culley, winner of the 2018 ED&I Outstanding Contribution Prize!

Sian Culley has been awarded the 2018 ED&I Outstanding Contribution Prize for the resource she created to address gender inequality in the field of microscopy. In collaboration with the Royal Microscopical Society, she produced a simple, international database of female microscopists, categorised by career stage, geographical location and area of expertise. This will assist meeting and conference organisers in ensuring gender balance is achieved at microscopy events.
