The UCL School of Pharmacy is #1 in Europe and was also the first School of Pharmacy in Europe when it was founded by the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain in 1842.

The UCL School of Pharmacy offers an MSc in Pharmaceutics and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Formulation and Entrepreneurship. Pharmaceutics focusses on taking promising new drug candidates and developing them into world-class medicines

These MScs were introduced in direct response to the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry and graduates of this programme are highly competitive in the global jobs market.

Modules for term one are identical for the MSc Pharmaceutics and the MSc Pharmaceutical Formulation and Entrepreneurship. However, from the second term students are able to choose between pursuing a science-oriented stream or a business oriented theme.

Uniquely, UCL’s business oriented modules are taught by scientists who have become successful in both the lab and as business people. These modules have been designed for scientists who want to learn about entrepreneurship.

The School of Pharmacy’s close links with the pharmaceutical industry (both major organisations and SMEs/start ups) enables them to offer a range of experienced operators as speakers as well as unique modules focussed on start ups in particular. Networking events for students are also held throughout the programme.

Indeed, the UCL School of Pharmacy itself has generated start ups such as Kuecept, Pharmaterials, Intract Pharma, Nanomerics and FabRx through its incubator in Kings Cross, London.

Both programmes are accredited by the Royal Society for Chemistry. Graduates are able to apply for Chartered Scientist status.
