UCL Life Sciences is home to a vibrant, diverse community of outstanding students, researchers and world-leading academics studying the science and biology of life, from novel discoveries to the delivery of real-world solutions, from molecules and cells to populations and ecosystems. Students are needed from across the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to help with student recruitment activities.
As a Student Ambassador, you'll have the opportunity to engage with prospective students, share your experiences, and help shape the future of the faculty. This role offers valuable leadership and communication experience, and allows you to be part of a supportive, dynamic team. Whether you’re attending open days, speaking at events, or participating in outreach programs, you’ll make a real impact.
Duties and responsibilities
Student Ambassadors are current UCL students employed on a casual basis to assist with activities primarily for the Faculty of Life Sciences marketing and communications team at UCL, for example content creation, filming and school events. Please visit Unitemps for the full job description.
Digital Content Creator
- Create online content such as campus tours
- Assist with UCL social media projects
- Blogging, writing for Life Sciences social media channels
Outreach ambassador
- To lead UCL Faculty campus tours and make presentations about UCL for prospective students
- Subject to further training, to support UCL staff at visits to schools and colleges
Successful applicants will be:
- Promoting and enhancing the reputation of UCL to prospective students and their influencers
- Providing positive role models to those thinking of studying at UCL and about higher education as a whole
- Supporting the smooth running of UCL events led by Life Sciences
Skills and experience
- Represent UCL in a competent and professional manner
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all visitors to the University/ event participants
- Proactively provide practical support to University staff running events.
- Discussing and sharing experiences of their own education, past and present. This may include giving creating social media posts, filming aspects of university student life at UCL, as directed
- Being aware of university policies and procedures including Safeguarding Children, Data Protection, Consumer Rights and Manual Handling
- Ambassadors will be required, from time to time, to fulfil other duties as appropriate to their skills.

Please note to be eligible to work within this role, you must have the right to work in the UK, be physically based in the UK and be able to travel to our London based office for a RTW check (if required).
