Module outline:- This module introduces students to linguistic structure and meaning and the analysis of language data, especially data from children and adults with language impairments. It links closely with HCSCGS12 (Developmental Speech, Language & Communication Difficulties), HCSCGS13 (Psychological & Linguistic Perspectives on Development), HCSCGS14 (Phonetics & Phonology) and HCSCGS22 (Management of Acquired Communication Difficulties). The course does not assume any explicit, formal knowledge of "traditional grammar".
