The SCW75 celebrates individuals who are helping research organisations translate increasingly complex computational technologies into practical scientific impact. This recognition comes at a time of rapid growth across the sector, with the global HPC and AI computing market projected to exceed $100bn by 2028.
Honourees represent 14 countries, reflecting the global nature of scientific computing leadership, with 31% women included in the first cohort.
Professor Townsend‑Nicholson’s inclusion highlights her significant contributions to advancing research computing and her leadership in ensuring that modern computational infrastructure remains scalable, usable and impactful across scientific disciplines.
