Every year, the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) recognises outstanding achievements and contributions made in zoology and conservation science through its awards programme. Researchers in these fields gathered together last night to celebrate the outstanding contributions made by the winners of the prestigious ZSL science and conservation awards. Two members of UCL’s Centre for Biodiversity and Environment Research were amongst the awardees.
The Scientific Medal was awarded to Tim Newbold, Professor of Conservation Ecology, for his comprehensive research to understand the effects of land-use change on biodiversity worldwide.
The Clarivate Award for Communicating Zoology was awarded to Tim Blackburn, Professor of Invasion Biology, for communication of a zoological nature that has an outstanding impact on a general audience, for his book The Jewel Box.
Congratulations to both Tims and all awardees!
