In preparation for the relocation of the Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital to the new Moorfields and UCL Centre for Eye Health, our collections will be moving in late summer 2026.
What is happening?
The Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital are moving to the new Moorfields and UCL Centre for Eye Health.
As part of our preparations for the future relocation, the Joint Library’s collections of print books and journals will be moving in late summer 2026, ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year. Higher-use books will be added to the medical collections in the Cruciform Hub over two weeks from 24 August 2026. The remainder of the physical collections will be transferred to the UCL Library Store in early September.
Accessing the collections
Once the moves are complete, by the start of Term 1, all library members will be able to request these items for collection at the Joint Library through our usual Click and Collect and Library Store services. A Scan and Send service, providing digital copies of articles and book chapters by email, is also available.
Online resources
Access to UCL and NHS online resources will remain unchanged. Our Inter-Library Loan and NHS document delivery services will also continue as normal.
