KIT/3 - Papers re interpretations of the Cold War (circa) (1968-1979)

Kitch had an apparent interest in interpretations of the causes and development of the Cold War. The late 1960s and early 1970s were a time when new theories on the subject were emerging from the new left school of history.

Contents: notes re interpretations of the causes and development of the Cold War and articles by Kitch and others on this subject.

KIT/4 - Papers re Romanian history (1953-1980) (circa)

Kitch was lecturer in Romanian history at SSEES 1968-1980 and published a few articles on the subject during this time. At one point he was commissioned with Eric Tappe, Professor of Romanian Studies at SSEES to write a history of Romania but this did not go ahead.

Contents: notes and articles on Romanian history, some by Kitch, some of which were published. Some of the papers relate to the history of Romania which was planned by Kitch but never completed.

KIT/5 - Papers re European history (circa) (1962-1980) (circa)

Kitch studied at universities in the United States before coming to St Antony's College Oxford in 1965 where he taught on some courses including a German history course. At SSEES he apparently taught on some general European (including English) as well as South Eastern Europe history courses.

Contents: lecture notes, reading lists, exam papers and card index bibliography re European (including English) history courses taught by Kitch. Also a few reading lists on American history from Kitch's own student days.

Kitch was interested in the history of political thought and taught on some related courses at SSEES.
