4) Transylvania April-May 1927
5) the Balkans, mainly Yugoslavia and Hungary September-December 1927
The letters contain lengthly descriptions of HF's experiences in and impressions of the countries she visited including some comments on political issues. HF intended to have the letters returned to her after circulation around her family members in order for them to serve as a diary.

Contents: papers and photographs re HF's death in a railway disaster at Biastorbágy, Hungary in September 1931 including letters from the British vice-consul in Budapest and HF's Hungarian friends including Countess Bethlen to HF's sister Alice Dixon and brother-in-law Frank Dixon, photographs of the funeral and obituaries of HF. Also includes a signed photograph and programme of a song recital given by the singer Balázs Arpád who was a friend of HF's.
