Joyce, James: Collection

over 1,500 items

Set up in 1973 as part of the James Joyce Centre, the collection was started with the help of the Trustees of the Joyce Estate and the Society of Authors. It contains current and rare editions of Joyce's publications, critical and background literature. The only major Joyce research collection in the UK, it also includes archival material donated by Jane Lidderdale, relating to both Harriet Shaw Weaver (Joyce's patron) and Lucia, Joyce's daughter. Books added to the collection since 1982 are traceable through UCL Library's online catalogue: Explore.
