UCL Library Click and Collect Service

UCL students, staff and external users with a borrowing account can use our Click and Collect Service to obtain library books that we hold.

Who can use the Service

The Service is available for all UCL students, staff and external users with a borrowing account. When collecting, please bring your UCL ID/library membership card and a copy of your confirmation email (email on screen is OK) to gain access to the relevant building.

Christmas Closure

The Click and Collect Service will be suspended from 16:30 on Friday 18 December until 09:00 on Monday 4 January 2021. Requests for books will be accepted until 17:00 on Wednesday 16 December.

Times and Collection Points

Bartlett Library

11:00 - 16:45, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Collection Point: Help Point Area.

Cruciform Hub

10:00 - 20:45, Monday – Friday & 11:00 - 17:45, Saturday.
Collection Point: Library Desk.

Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health Library

10:00 - 15:00, Monday – Friday.
Collection Point: Library Enquiry Desk

Institute of Archaeology Library

09:30 - 19:00, Monday – Friday & 11:00 - 18:00, Saturday.
Collection Point: Library Issue Desk.

Institute of Education Library

09:00 - 20:00, Monday – Friday.
Collection Point: Self-service area within IOE Library.

Joint Library of Ophthalmology, Moorfields Eye Hospital & UCL Institute of Ophthalmology

10:00 - 16:00, Monday - Friday.
Collection Points: Library Enquiry/Issue desk (UCL students and staff) or Institute of Ophthalmology Reception Desk (Moorfields staff).

Language and Speech Science Library

The Language and Speech Science Library is currently closed, due to flooding. Books can be returned to the UCL Science Library during this time. For help and enquiries please contact lib-lass@ucl.ac.uk

Main Library

10:00 - 20:45, Monday – Friday & 11:00 - 17:45, Saturday.
Collection Point: First Floor Help Point Area.

Queen Square Library

10:15 - 12:45 & 14:15 - 16:45, Thursday and Friday.
Collection Point: 1st floor, 23 Queen Square. Please phone 020 3448 4709 upon arrival at the building.

School of Pharmacy Library

10:00 - 21:00, Monday and Wednesday & 08:45 - 16:00, Saturday
Collection point: Library Help Point.

Science Library

10:00 - 20:45, Monday – Friday & 11:00 - 17:45, Saturday.
Collection Point: Ground Floor.

SSEES Library

13:00 - 19:00, Monday, Wednesday, Friday & 10:00 - 17:00, Saturday.
Collection Point: Ground Floor.
Please note: In the short term, there may be delays when requesting material from the following collections: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Finno-Ugrian, General Baltic, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, Vojvodina, Yugoslavia..

Click and Collect Procedure

  • Request the items that you wish to collect by logging into Explore. If you see a 'Request' option next to the book, it is available for Click and Collect.
  • You will receive an email notification once your book(s) are ready to be collected. This will normally be the next working day after they have been requested but please be aware that this may take slightly longer due to book quarantining requirements. Books will then be held for three working days.
  • Bring your UCL ID and a copy of the email confirming you have a book to collect (email on screen is OK) to gain access to the relevant building.
  • A face covering or mask must be worn at all times while on Campus.

Staying Safe on Campus

Please follow these guidelines when using the Click and Collect service.

  • Avoid contact and keep a distance of 2 metres from other people where possible.
  • Wash your hands regularly.
  • Sneeze or cough into a tissue, or the crease of your arm.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Stay at home if you feel ill.
