Temporary study spaces closing in June

4 June 2021

As we approach the end of the academic year, our temporary study spaces will close and return to their original functions.

Our libraries and learning spaces have now re-opened since restrictions were relaxed in April. We now provide 771 socially-distanced study spaces across 16 library sites.

In order to support UCL students during the challenges of the 2020-21 academic year, we converted offices and the halls of residence in Ramsay Hall into study space, providing an extra 475 bookable learning spaces. These spaces were managed by Library Services and were heavily used by students on campus, particularly during Term 2.

As the usage of library space has significantly reduced with the end of exams, we are able to return these temporary spaces this summer for reconversion as office space and student accommodation, while ensuring there is still enough study space on campus.

Timeline

  • Friday 4 June: Bidborough House will close as learning space.
  • Friday 11 June: 1-19 Torrington Place and Ramsay Hall will close as learning spaces.

Please continue to book a study space if you would like to study in one of our library sites.
