This year marks the centenary of the birth of Alexander Comfort (1920-2000) and twenty years since his death. Probably best known as the author of The Joy Of Sex, first published in 1972, Comfort was a leading specialist in geriatric medicine. His archive reveals a man who was also a talented poet and novelist, a pacifist, anarchist, and a travel writer.

Comfort's papers and published works are made freely available to researchers from around the world by UCL Special Collections. This event will include short talks from the archivists and curators who manage his collection, on Comfort's poetry, research on the science of ageing and his schoolboy travels.

This event will be delivered online. Unfortunately live captioning will not be available, but we hope to record the event and make it available afterwards.
