Introduction to Mendeley

Mendeley is a package for collecting and organising reference information and for citing references in a Word document. It enables you to cite references and produce a bibliography automatically in a preferred style and is especially useful for those writing papers and theses.

By the end of the session you will:

• understand what Mendeley is and what it can do
• be able to create, open and close an Mendeley Library
• be able to add and edit a reference manually and by importing information from electronic sources such as databases and library catalogues
• be able to organise and manage references
• be able to insert citations and bibliographies into a Word document
