Monitor Books is the 2025 UCL Small Press in Residence. They are developing a publishing project that engages with our collections and will feed into our small press 60th anniversary celebrations
Monitor Books

Monitor Books publish necessary, innovative and experimental writing, focusing on poetry and short-form works. The press works closely and collaboratively with designers and printers to produce bespoke editions.
Recent title from the press include coal by Remi Graves, which was one of the winners of the Prototype Prize, stewarding by Sean Roy Parker, and Thank You For Everything by Nell Osborne. There are forthcoming poetry pamphlets by Jazmine Linklater and Fatema Abdoolcarim, and from 2026 Monitor will publish full-length collections.
The Residency at UCL
Monitor is developing a project in response to the holdings of performance scores and Concrete Poetry in UCL's Small Press Collections. This will culminate in a number of collaborative events with the UCL Special Collections team and a new series that will launch in 2026.
