- Description
- Very often, facilitators of learning introduce new concepts and knowledge through a lecture or a reading. Experiential learning introduces a different, more reflective but at the same time active approach to learning. In this approach students reflect on their lived experience and what they already know about a particular concept or subject area. They then relate the new concepts and knowledge being introduced to their own experience. A good example of this is illustrated in the learning design below.
- Mode of delivery
- Blended
- Aims
- To enable students to apply the concept of gender to an agricultural extension context and demonstrate how it affects aspects of agricultural development from the local perspective.
- Outcomes
-
- Application By the end of the session, you will be able to effectively integrate the concept of gender roles and gender sensitive practices into the extension service delivery systems in Uganda to promote equal and equitable participation and sharing of benefits between men and women from the agriculture sector.
- Application By the end of the session, you will be able to develop and implement gender responsive programmes suitable for efficient agricultural development specifically in rural areas where agriculture is majorly practised.
