1825-; departmental records, 1827-[1998], including the Institute
of Archaeology, 1884-1998, Petrie Museum, 1814-1992 and Slade School
of Fine Art, 1868-1996; student administration records, 1828-; student
bodies records, 1833-1992, University College School records, 1829-1905;
printed matter, including annual reports, College calendars, and
other College publications; illustrative and audio-visual material,
including photographs, portraits and film footage.

George Orwell Papers
This is a smaller personal archive comprising Orwell's manuscripts
and typescripts, 1917-1959; literary notebooks, 1939-[1949]; Spanish
Civil War material, 1936-1939; general notebooks, 1943-[1950]; political
diaries, 1938-1942; domestic diaries, 1938-1948; letters from Orwell,
1911-1949, letters to Orwell, 1928-1950; associated material, 1935-1949;
personalia, 1903-1971; Eileen Blair papers, [1920s]-1967; family
papers, 1875-1968; posthumous scripts and screenplays of Orwell's
work, 1952-1986; documentary scripts, 1946-1983; audio-visual cassettes,
1983-[1997]; Sonia Orwell papers, 1937-1977; photographs, 1893-1984.
Besides papers accumulated by Orwell and members of his family,
the archive includes related items collected by UCL Library in the
late 20th century.
