We have enhanced our copyright training and guidance for UCL students and staff.
In April 2024, LCCOS’ copyright literacy training programme was highlighted at the UCL Education Conference 2024. A contribution by members of the copyright team, Christina Daouti and Hazel Ingrey, "Getting comfortable with uncertainty", discussed the development of the programme, which encourages a critical approach to thinking about copyright, and signposted further help. New training guidance regarding text and data mining, as well as copyright and teaching, has been also published, as well as a new ‘copyright and your teaching’ online tutorial.
A new UCL Copyright Literacy Community was also launched in summer 2024. The new community features representation from UCL academics, students and professional services staff, including LCCOS staff. It will identify areas where an understanding of copyright is necessary for specific academic, research and professional practices, including open science practices. It will also provide a valuable opportunity to reflect on UCL copyright practices.
