Probably great-grandfather and great-grandson. In the will of Dominick Trant of Montserrat and London proved in 1762, he refers to a son James and a grandson Dominick. It appears that the son James died shortly afterwards, and that the grandson was Dominick Henry Trant, father of James Trant (d. 1804). |

Enslaved boy on Unity Valley Pen, Jamaica. Manumitted in 1795 by David Barclay and removed to Philadelphia, with 29 other freed persons from the estate, where he was placed under the care of Society for Improving the Condition of Free Blacks.
