Sir William Crisp Hood Burnaby 3rd Bart.

Sir William Crisp Hood Burnaby, awarded the compensation for enslaved people under two awards on Bermuda.

1. Only son of Sir William Chaloner Burnaby and Elizabeth (second daughter of Crisp Molineaux [or Molyneux] of Garboldisham), and grandson of Admiral Sir William Burnaby, commander-in-chief of the Leeward IsIands and then [briefly] of Jamaica, who died 1776. Married 02/05/1816 the widow of Joseph Wood of Bermuda.

2. Sir William Crisp Hood Burnaby in 1835 bought parcels of land in the Fief Nazareth, St Anne, suburb of Montreal Canada, when he was described as of Bermuda. He died at Bermuda 1853. The title passed to his nephew, William Edward Burnaby, son of his brother Edward Augustus Caesar Burnaby.

3. The third baronet's grandfather Sir William Burnaby is in the ODNB as 'naval officer.' He was embedded in Caribbean connections: his first wife Margaret (the third baronet's grandmother) was widow of Tim Donovan of Jamaica, and his second wife was Grace, daughter of Drewry Ottley of Bedford Row London, from another slave-owning family.
