Solicitor-General, Barbados, 1847-74. Escheator-General, 1859. Member of Legislative Council, 1868-76. Chief Justice of Barbados, 1874. Knighted, 1879. Married, 1841, Amelia Rebecca, eldest daughter. of J. T. Ellis, Esq., of Barbados. Died Feb. 21, 1888, at Ruttal House, Barbados.
