Biography

The awardee of part of the compensation for the enslaved people on Hall's Delight was either Admiral Sir Manley Dixon (1757-1837) or conceivably his son Manley Hall Dixon (1786-1864).

  1. Admiral Sir Manley Dixon had married Christiana Sophia Hall, daughter of Charles Hall of Pleasant Prospect (1728-1795) in Jamaica c. 1783.

  2. Will of Sir Manley Dixon Admiral of the Royal Navy proved 09/05/1837. In the will he lamented the treachery of his agent Harry Cook of Lancaster Place Waterloo Bridge; he left £1000 owed to him by Charles William Hall late of Pleasant Prospect Pen in right of his first wife between his three daughters.
