Daughter of Nicholas Lechmere (c. 1755-1817), coffee planter and Ordinance keeper in Jamaica, and 'free quadroon' Sarah Letitia Webster (1773-c. 1822). Born 14/06/1808 and baptised 13/07/1808 in Kingston, Jamaica. Inherited enslaved people in Kingston in trust from her father and probably from her mother too. By 1834 she had married Thomas Ellis, probably the same man who was awarded compensation for Kingston claim no. 1337.
