Biography

London East India merchant, partner in Rickards Mackintosh (q.v.) awarded with another surviving partner Browne Roberts the compensation for Berry Hill and Rose Hill in St Mary Jamaica.

  1. John Rate, the nephew of Eaneas or Aeneas Mackintosh,  joined Rickards Mackintosh in 1831. The firm failed in 1833, and the parnership including John Rate was terminated in 1835. No subsequent trace of John Rate has yet been found.
